The 4-H Shooting Sports Program of Butler County encompasses the shooting disciplines of Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun, Muzzleloading, and Archery as well as Hunting & Wildlife and Living History.

Join the Fun as Butler County Extension Celebrates 100 Years!
As part of the 100 year celebration, OSU Extension, Butler County is creating an "Extension Family Album-Then & Now" for display throughout the year. Please bring or send in any pictures of your family involved in Extension Activities. We would love to get pictures of past and present generations as well as personal stories of how Extension has impacted you and your family. We would like to have them by May 15, 2014 to create a display at the Extension Open House on May 29th. Seven Scholarships Offered Through Butler County Farm Bureau
Butler County Farm Bureau is pleased to announce seven scholarships will be available for 2014. Each scholarship has different eligibility requirements as outlined on the information sheet. Deadline for the scholarship application is Monday, March 31, 2014. Application can be downloaded and opened with Adobe Acrobat to type directly into the fields. Food Preservation Class:  Water Bath & Pressure Canning
More people are canning food at home every year so let's do it safely. Terri Chatfield will present two programs and each class will review techniques for Water Bath and Pressure Canning at home. Cost is $10 per person and reservations are required by calling 513-887-3722. Asian Longhorned Beetle Found in Ohio; OSU Extension Offers Information Hotline
COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Department of Agriculture today (6/17) announced the first discovery of Asian longhorned beetle (ALB) in Ohio. An exotic, invasive insect that kills maples and other trees, ALB was found in Bethel, Clermont County, in southwest Ohio.
