Diversity Equity and Inclusion
Recently the Hamilton Journal News published an article about the Hamilton City Council’s discussion and struggles about the topic of diversity. As I read the article, it was apparent that those discussing diversity were only addressing one small part of diversity, namely race. As I researched the information for this article, the definition of diversity stayed on my mind. Here is the definition of diversity that appears on the internet: The concept of diversity encompasses acceptance and respect. It means understanding that each individual is unique, and recognizing our individual differences.

Since the 1989 Hudson Institute Report, Workforce 2000, the message has been that the face of the nation is rapidly changing.
