Pruning Perennials Can Improve Flowering & Extend Season
Many gardeners are familiar with the idea of pruning trees and shrubs, but how many think of pruning flowering perennials? You can prune for many reasons. One is to delay the bloom and stagger plant height in a large clump. Another is to encourage plants to branch and thereby produce more flowers.

Make the Most of Containers in this Season’s Garden
Garden containers can accommodate flowers, herbs, fruits, vegetables, ornamental grasses, trees, vines, and shrubs. Given the right conditions, a good potting mix [also referred to as compost], fertilizer, moisture, and drainage, nearly any plant will grow in a container. Containers are a good choice for any garden, even when space is limited.
