  1. Summer Position for College Student

    OSU Extension, Butler County is seeking to hire a college student to work with the Agriculture, Family Consumer Sciences and 4-H Youth Development program areas for June-August 2018.  Applicants should have leadership experience, strong communication, organizational and computer skills, be self-motivated, enthusiastic and demonstrate good people skills. This is a paid position.

  2. Community Service Project - Flower Beds

    Seeking 4-H Clubs and FFA Chapters in helping to make the Butler County Fairgrounds beautiful.  There are going to be many different places around the fairground to create a “container garden” The design is up to you and your club members.  Locations include the livestock barns, ticket gates, Art Hall, Special Interest and many more.

  3. Volunteers Needed!

  4. Cloverbud Contest - Cloverbud Veggie-Fruit Car Event

    This year, Cloverbuds will be able to participate in a Veggie-Fruit Car Event. The race will take place at the Small Animal tent that is located to the left of the Small Animal Barn. Cloverbuds will bring their completed car and spare parts/repair parts to participate in the event. The car will need to run at least two heats.

  5. Cabbage Contest

    We will be doing the cabbage contest during the Butler County Fair again this year!  However, the registration will be a little different this year. This is open to the first 100 registrations only. After 100 people have registered, it will close so don’t delay!

    To register, follow these steps:

    1. You will need to log into the 4-H Online system under your family account.

    2. Click on “My Member List”

    3. Click on “Register A Member In An Event”

If you or someone you know answered yes to any of these questions, then the Ohio State University New and Small Farm College program may be just what you are looking for.

  9. 3rd Annual Harvest FUN 5K Run/Walk, Craft Show and Pancake Breakfast

    Come out and support our 3rd annual Harvest FUN 5K Run/Walk on October 14, 2017 at the Butler County Fairgrounds in Hamilton, Ohio.  Registration for the 5K takes place from 8:30 am to 9:30 am.  Runners start at 9:30 am, walkers will follow.  Breakfast is included in the registration for the 5K.  If you are not participating in the 5K, please join us for breakfast.  Breakfast is by donation.  Breakfast includes pancakes, sausage, juice, milk and coffee.  Breakfast will be served from 7:30 am to 11:00 am.  All proceeds benefit the Butler County 4-H Program.

  10. New Year’s Resolution

    Whether it’s losing a few of the pounds you put on during the holidays, keeping a tidier house, yelling at your kids less or getting control of your finances, we all feel the need to reflect on the previous year and promise ourselves to “do better” in 2017.
