1. Extension Open House & Volunteer Appreciation Reception

    Please join us on March 20, 2019 as we honor volunteers and supporters of Extension! Dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the awards ceremony beginning at 6:30 p.m. All new, interactive, information booths will be open for you to visit and learn throughout the evening.

    We look forward to thanking our volunteers, 4-H Advisors, Master Gardeners and their families for their continued support of Extension.  

  2. The Butler County Sharpshooters 4-H Club is in its 26th year!

    The 4-H Shooting Sports Program promotes Youth Development through participation in the shooting disciplines of Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun, Muzzleloader, Archery, and Crossbow. Hunting & Wildlife and Living History also fall under the 4-H Shooting Sports umbrella. These differ from traditional 4-H projects in that they require a member to take the project under the direction of a shooting sports club that includes state certified shooting sports instructors. We have 15 awesome certified instructors on our team!

  3. DLS Helps to DIY

    Parents, during the Month of Love, we often think of exchanging Valentines with our youngsters. Although that is a fantastic way to express our love for our children, I was thinking perhaps we could put into practice the old adage that “Children spell love: T-I-M-E!” You can create a delicious Fruit Pizza that is so easy children of any age can help! And since February is also American Heart Month, we can be heart healthy by eating lots of fresh fruits together as a family.

  4. 4-H Open House

  6. Come to the Farm Zone at the Butler County Fair!

    The Farm Zone is a great place for KIDS!  This year, we have exciting activities and special events every day of the week.  Butler County’s Master Gardener Volunteers will have a fun, interactive display on wildlife throughout the week and the “I’m a Farmer” area will run all day, every day:  Sunday, July 22nd through Saturday, July 28th from 11:00 a.m.

  7. Community Service Project During Sewing Camp

    Particpants of Sewing Camp made drawstring fabric bags to donate to the Development of Living Skills (DLS) progam for their community service project!  When they presented the bags to DLS, Nina Solomon, DLS Instructor, spoke with the participants about how the bags will be used by the families the Instructors work with such as carrying snacks and toys for their children.  DLS would like to thank each particpant for their hard work!  The bags will be appreciated by the families!

  8. Summer Position for College Student

    OSU Extension, Butler County is seeking to hire a college student to work with the Agriculture, Family Consumer Sciences and 4-H Youth Development program areas for June-August 2018.  Applicants should have leadership experience, strong communication, organizational and computer skills, be self-motivated, enthusiastic and demonstrate good people skills. This is a paid position.

  9. Community Service Project - Flower Beds

    Seeking 4-H Clubs and FFA Chapters in helping to make the Butler County Fairgrounds beautiful.  There are going to be many different places around the fairground to create a “container garden” The design is up to you and your club members.  Locations include the livestock barns, ticket gates, Art Hall, Special Interest and many more.
