Test Out Information:

Members may test out of attending Quality Assurance if:

  1. They have attended at least two QA programs.
  2. They are either 12-14 years old or 15-18 years old as of January 1st of the current year.
  3. Parents are not required to attend the test out.

There are two age categories for the test (12-14) and (15-18). There are 50 multiple choice questions in each age category and members must pass with a 70%. If a member does not pass the test, they and a parent must attend on of the three Quality Assurance programs scheduled in order to show and sell their animal at the Butler County Fair. If the member passes in the 12-14 age category, they will not need to attend QA and can wait until they are age 15 to take the test again. If they pass the test at age 15 or older, they do not need to attend QA ever again.

RSVP by emailing ONLY youth that RSVP are allowed to take the test-out option.

YQCA Online Training Information:

For members who wish to complete the Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) online training in place of attending a traditional Quality Assurance (QA) training, the new YQCA site is now available. While members are encouraged to attend one of the five in-person FREE QA trainings that are being offered in Butler County, YQCA offers an additional opportunity for members to meet their annual requirement in order to show livestock at the Butler County Fair and/or Ohio State Fair. Please follow the instructions HERE to create an account and complete the training if you wish to do so. Once completed, please save a copy of your certificate of completion and email it to Emily Kahrs at so we can mark your QA requirement complete.

PLEASE NOTE: there is a monetary cost per member to complete this training whereas the county trainings are free. Please use whatever option works best for your family.
